Who we are
One centre, one coastline, done properly
Kite Dates ECC runs a kite centre in Hurghada, on the Egyptian Red Sea. Everything we do happens here: the courses, the day-use programme for independent riders, the rental fleet and the workshop.
We teach to the standards of the Verband Deutscher Wassersport Schulen and issue VDWS certification, which means a fixed order to how things are taught — safety systems before power, kite control before the board — and no shortcuts through the parts that keep you safe on the water. The syllabus runs from Level 1 to Level 7, so whether you have never flown a kite or you are working on kiteloops, there is a course that starts exactly where you are.
Sessions are capped at two students per instructor. Courses include the kite, board, harness, helmet and water booties, plus kite-equipment insurance. The minimum age is 8. Instruction is available in English, German, Arabic, Polish and Russian.
Hotel transfer inside Hurghada is free. If you are staying in Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh or El Gouna, the transfer is €20 per car.
How we work
What is fixed, whoever you ride with
These are the things that do not change from instructor to instructor or season to season.
VDWS certified
We teach to the standards of the Verband Deutscher Wassersport Schulen — the Association of German Watersports Schools — and issue VDWS certification.
Two students per instructor
The maximum group size is two students to one instructor, so nobody spends the session waiting on the beach for a turn.
Levels 1 to 7
Courses run across the full VDWS syllabus, from a first introduction to the kite through to jumps, transitions and kiteloops.
Equipment included
Kite, board, harness, helmet and water booties are provided with every course, along with kite-equipment insurance.
Five teaching languages
Instruction is available in English, German, Arabic, Polish and Russian.
Hotel transfer
Transfer is free from any hotel inside Hurghada. Makadi Bay, Sahl Hasheesh and El Gouna cost €20 per car.
The minimum age for courses is 8. Younger riders are taught on the same syllabus, at the same two-to-one ratio — the difference is kite size and pace, not standards.

Mostafa Yassin
Kite Instructor
Mostafa teaches at the Kite Dates ECC centre in Hurghada, working with students from their first session on the beach through to riding upwind. Guests regularly single out the coaching style at the centre — patient with beginners, direct about what needs fixing.

Really nice spot, good for everybody, from beginner to pro because of the conditions there — steady wind, not crowded. The instructors are very friendly and teach really well. After kiting you sit around with the crew, drink coffee or good tea and talk about your practice and what you can do better the next day. Pick-up service from the hotel was the best, and for free, and always on time. If the wind is not good you don’t go out, so you don’t pay for bad conditions — that’s great. I definitely recommend it. The kite rental was also very good, nice equipment.
