About this spot

Soma Bay is a resort peninsula roughly 45 kilometres south of Hurghada, built on a wide sand shelf. The riding area is shallow and flat over a long stretch, and because the bay is entirely resort-based it stays far quieter than El Gouna.

It suits riders who want flat water without crowds, and it is a comfortable place to progress. As with Safaga, we are based in Hurghada — Soma Bay is a guide entry, not a location we operate from.

When it works

Highlighted months are the strongest, most consistent stretch at Soma Bay. The rest of the year still delivers sessions — it is simply less predictable.

Hazards to know about

Shallow coral in places outside the sand flats. Limited public access — most of the bay is resort land.
